Short Story

About 6 months ago, a heavy object fell on little Manolis’ head. The 5-year-old was rushed to the hospital, where he was subjected to a decompressive craniotomy, since he had suffered severe craniocerebral injuries. After spending 2 months in the hospital, the little fighter returned home. The accident, however, caused severe neurological damage. The little boy cannot speak anymore. He is unable to walk, while his left side is almost completely paralyzed. The hospital doctors recommend that he is immediately subjected to an intensive speech therapy and physiotherapy program, since there is still room for improvement.

Campaign Story

Manolis had always been an energetic and happy little boy. His life, however, was shattered into pieces about 6 months ago, when a heavy object fell on his head while playing inside the house.

Manolis’ father, who has been raising him on his own, has now found himself in a dead end, since he is unable to cope with the immense cost of his son’s treatments and health-related expenses. Not knowing where else to turn to, he reached out to ACT OF KINDNESS. As soon as the Organization’s interdisciplinary staff reviewed the boy’s files, we took all necessary action, in order to help this 5-year-old little angel, who has been fighting an uneven battle in order to get back on his feet!

A moment of carelessness was enough to turn a small child’s life upside down. We cannot turn back time. We can, however, stand by this child, who is daily trying to regain his lost skills. We join forces for our beloved Manolis! Any contribution can make a great difference!

If we join our forces, we will make it happen!
